I have a couple of great helpers here. The kids enjoyed helping me clean all the fishy dirt out and off of the boat. They sprayed the boat and themselves and made cleaning a lot more fun then doing it myself. I think it is about the cleanest it has ever been. They were also very excited when they figured out how to get in and out without someone having to pick them up.

The kids really like it when i roll them up nice and tight in their blankets. Its a great way to keep them happy and in one place. So roll em up ! Keep them happy and in 1 place.

I got some fireworks to play with for the 4th. We had a good time setting a few of them off last night. We are going to Waite until next weekend to do the bulk of them so that a few more people can enjoy them.

I caught this big sucker in the rock river on a light action rod. It bent the rod near the point that i was afraid it was going to snap and pulled the drag out until the line was nearing its end. I was alone in the boat so it was quite a battle getting it close enough to the boar for me to net it. I wish I could have taken better pictures like one with me holding the scale.
This sucker tipped the scale just over 18lbs. Its pretty hard to hold my phone to snap a pix and hold the nasty sucker at the same time. so this is the best i could do. This is would have been an exciting fish to catch with the kids in the boat. I released it so maybe one of the kids can catch it in the future.

Here is another baby kitty fish for ya all. Look at that mouth and such perfect lips. Catching this many small catfish tells me that in 2 or 3 years there should be a lot of good sized catfish. Hopefully I will be putting my hooks into them then.

Have been catching too many small catfish lately. Can’t figure out a way to keep them off my hook. I know that if all the baby cats are biting there must be big mommy and daddy catfish in the river. Guess i just need to keep trying.

I am on the river again solo. I figured i would make a few posts here. Last time I went fishing this Dragonfly landed on my hooks and hung out for a few mins just begging for me to take a pix of it. so here it is.
